We follow natures lead, creating an environment that replicates their wild origins so they can thrive for years to come.

It’s a special place to farm here, surrounded by the most beautiful Tasmanian forests on an island with the cleanest air in the world.

Tasmannia lanceolota are native to Tasmania and love our cool temperate forests. We first came across the trees growing wild across Josh’s parents farm and now, using cuttings, grow peppery berry trees on what is now our own farm Still surrounded by the same forest where they grow wild.

Our water is supplied by the Kermandie River which is a mountain fed waterway drawing its water from the Hartz National Park mountain range.

With an average rainfall in excess of 500mm a year, the wet climate suits the preferred growing conditions of our pepper trees and while we take extra care to provide some assistance with mulching their roots to help keep them wet and extra irrigation throughout summer, we offer little other assistance to the trees knowing that they love this local native environment and this is where they can thrive.

Farmed, not wild

Farmed pepper protects wild supply, leaving nature’s food for natures creatures to continue to enjoy. Pepper Berry grown in a farmed environment is 100% traceable from production through to processing with high quality protocols in place to ensure the high quality is protected at every stage.

Our ambition is to support this burgeoning horticulture industry here in Tasmania and continue to farm selected cultivars in a farm orchard setting using organic practices while also sharing our knowledge with other producers to help grow the industry thus increasing the overall quality of pepper berry supply for customers.

Healthy farms will create beautiful food for humans to enjoy, new jobs for Tasmanians in regional reas and leave berries in the wild for our native animals to continue to enjoy. Win/Win!
